Discovered the Iberian oppidum of Iliturgi

The University Research Institute for Iberian Archaeology of the University of Jaén – headquarter of the Phoenicians’ Route in Spain – has documented a Iberian oppidum on the hill known as “Cerro de la Muela” in Mengibar, almost certainly the Iliturgi that was destroyed and abandoned as a consequence of a Roman military siege during the Second Punic War.
