Cooperation in the field of research and development
The Phoenicians’ Route has been collaborating with Universities and Research Centres since its establishment.
In collaboration with European and Mediterranean Universities, seminars, conferences and summer schools dedicated to the theme of Cultural Routes are periodically organized, with a particular focus on the themes debated by the Phoenicians’ Route.
At the Direction Bureau of the Route and the offices of some members of the Confederation, each year many students intending to carry out an internship or training experience at the Phoenicians’ Route are hosted.
Furthermore, every year national and international theses and researches are carried out on various aspects treated by the Phoenicians’ Route.
The International Confederation “The Phoenicians’ Route”, based on the decision taken at the General Assembly held in Jaén (Spain) on 10 October 2017, established a network of Universities (International Universities Network – IUN) in order to promote a Network of knowledge and cooperation in the research and promotion of economic, scientific and cultural projects of common interest related to the following themes:
- cultural, material and immaterial heritage
- intercultural dialogue
- cultural, sustainable, responsible and experiential tourism
- archaeology and history
- tourism sciences and local development
- education and pedagogy
- cultural management
- communication and sustainable development
- landscape and cultural itineraries
with particular attention to the Phoenicians’ Route – Cultural Route of the Council of Europe.
