On the occasion of the 13th Annual Advisory Forum on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe, held in Visegrád, Hungary, on September 25th – 27th, 2024, the Phoenicians’ Route – Cultural Route of the Council of Europe and Italian partner of the QUEST project has been selected and awarded the recognition of best practice on the topic of this year: “Transmission and innovation: Fostering youth participation along the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe” for its activities dedicated to young people carried out for more than twenty years. Among these, QUEST allowed 12 young students from the Universities of Malaga (Spain), Nicosia (Cyprus) and Libertas University Zagreb (Croatia) to experience an internship in territories that are members of the Route (in Sicily-Italy at the management offices and at the Selinunte Archaeological Park, at Solin Tourist Board in Croatia and at Larnaka Tourist Board in Cyprus). Mr. Sergio Ortega Muñoz, Head of the Heritage Protection and European Programmes Service, Ministry of Culture of Spain, Vice-Chair of the EPA Governing Board awarded the prize to the President of the Phoenicians’ Route Mrs Elena Tanou, during the Closing Ceremony held in Budapest. The award has been officially presented in the framework of the last QUEST Transnational Project Meeting held in Larnaka (Cyprus) on October 9th.
