PleinAir Camper Tour 2018 in Sicily on the Phoenicians’ Route

Reached the maximum number of registrations for the Camper Tour in Sicily proposed to readers and friends of PleinAir by the Phoenicians’ Route – Cultural Route of the Council of Europe. 

From April 25 to May 2, an itinerant journey is proposed in order to let you discover Sicily as protagonists, showing you its multifaceted nature, culture, traditions and flavours. The proposal is carried out in partnership with various companies including Confesercenti Assocamping, Feisct and operators of experiential tourism.

Palermo, Italian Capital of Culture 2018 will be the starting and arrival point.

PROGRAM

April 25th Meeting of the crews in Palermo and departure for Trapani, with visits to the medieval village of Erice and to the Punic island of Mozia; start of the Antica Via Selinuntina SmartWay (SS115) with a visit to the Marsala Winery, adhering to the Marsala DOC Wine Route. Departure to Selinunte and overnight stay at Camping Athena.

April 26th Experiential visit to the Archaeological Park of Selinunte and to an olive oil farm. Departure along the SS115 – Smartway Antica Via Selinuntina; visit to Menfi Winery, adhering to the Terre Sicane Wine Route. Overnight stay in Camping Kamemi of Ribera.

April 27th Departure to Agrigento and experiential visit with Past Activity et Val di Kam; visit of the Arkeo&Fede path of Agrigento. Transfer to Santa Croce Camerina (RG) and overnight stay in Camping Scarabeo.

April 28th Experiential visit in the territory of Ragusa, Scicli and Modica on the theme “Baroque and chocolate”; return in camping.

April 29th Departure to Syracuse, end of the SmartWay Antica Via Selinuntina (SS115) and starting of the Ciclovia Magna Grecia; experiential visit of the city of Neapolis, Ortigia. Departure and overnight stay in Camping Paradise in Letojanni (ME).

April 30th Departure to Etna, visit and crossing with descent on the northern side of Sicily until the Agricampeggio Alessandra of Torrenova (ME).

May 1st Departure to Cefalù and visit of the city which is part of the Norman Arabic Circuit of UNESCO. Overnight stay in Camping Lo Scoglio di Castel di Tusa (ME).

May 2nd Departure to Monreale and Palermo, Norman Arabic Circuit of UNESCO. Closure with visit of Palermo, Italian Capital of Culture 2018.
