On June 11th and 12th, the two-day event marking the conclusion of the \u2018SMARTIES for SMEs\u2019 project co-funded by the European Union\u2019s COSME Programme, was held at the prestigious headquarters of ENIT \u2013 the Italian National Tourism Agency.
\nOn the first day, the project\u2019s transnational meeting took place, during which the partners reviewed the final steps and activities to be completed by September.
\nOn Friday June12th, however, a Networking Event open to the public and the press was held.
\nDuring the morning session, the valuable \u201cCompendium on SMEs Needs and Best Practices in Regenerative Tourism\u201d was presented by Ksenija Ke\u010da and Vlasta Klaric, Senior Researchers at Sveu\u010dili\u0161te Libertas – Libertas International University in Zagreb.
\nThis was followed by the roundtable discussion \u201cWine & Gastronomy Tourism as Leverage for Sustainability\u201d, moderated by Antonio Barone, Director of the Phoenicians\u2019 Route \u2013 Cultural Route of the Council of Europe.
\nThe speakers who gave their valuable contributions to the discussion on this topic were:
\n– Emanuela Panke, Expert Consultancy in Rural Development and Cross-Border Cooperation Projects and President of ITER VITIS Les Chemins de La Vigne en Europe – Cultural Route of the Council of Europe
\n– Carlo Hausmann, Rural Development Expert
\n– Francesca Boldrighini, Archaeologist at Archaeological Park of the Colosseum, Rome
\n– Ioanna Maria Kiatipi, EU Project Manager, Actina, Xanthi (Greece)<\/p>\n
Among the project\u2019s main achievements are the engagement of stakeholders and SMEs across several Mediterranean countries and regions, as well as technical and financial support provided to 75 innovative projects selected through European calls in five countries \u2013 Cyprus, Portugal, Greece, Slovenia and Italy.
