{"id":987499347,"date":"2025-11-04T13:47:56","date_gmt":"2025-11-04T13:47:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fenici.net\/malta-in-the-cultural-routes-of-the-council-of-europe-conference\/"},"modified":"2025-11-04T13:47:56","modified_gmt":"2025-11-04T13:47:56","slug":"malta-in-the-cultural-routes-of-the-council-of-europe-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fenici.net\/en\/malta-in-the-cultural-routes-of-the-council-of-europe-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cMalta in the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe\u201d Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On October 29th and 30th, as part of The Maltese Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe (May-November 2025), the Seminar &#8220;Malta in the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe&#8221; was held in Birgu.<br \/>\nThe Phoenicians&#8217; Route had a strong presence at this event, being the first Cultural Route of the Council of Europe to have members in Malta.<br \/>\nIn addition to the keynote speech given by Dr Karsten Xuereb, member of our Scientific Committee, on the topic \u2018Malta and Cultural Routes &#8211; a reflection on Europe and the Mediterranean with Malta and Cultural Routes at the centre, with particular reference to the Phoenicians\u2019. Route&#8221;, the Director of the Phoenicians&#8217; Route, Dr Antonio Barone, gave a presentation on the numerous initiatives and activities carried out in Malta since 2009 and the perspectives for the future.<br \/>\nDuring the session dedicated to Maltese stakeholders, Dr Mario Fava, President of the Local Councils&#8217; Association Malta and member of the Steering Committee of the Phoenicians&#8217; Route, spoke about how the organisation collaborates virtuously in the Cultural Route.<br \/>\nYesterday afternoon, an \u2018Open space networking and collaboration\u2019 event was also held with Maltese stakeholders interested in joining the various Cultural Routes.
