The invitation is to go beyond the archaeological and historical traces and to discover the cultural landscape in its broadest sense, able to offer a lot of \u00a0emotions, unique experiences made of images and atmospheres.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1) SANTA FLAVIA \u2013 SOLUNTO<\/strong><br \/>\nOn the slopes of Monte Catalfano, the ruins of the town of Solunto, founded by\u00a0 Phoenicians, they \u00a0occupy a site of great beauty, with panoramic view on the sea. Not to be missed there is also the nearby bay of Sant&#8217;Elia, a natural breathtaking \u00a0cove .<\/p>\n<p><em>Archaeological area and Antiquarium of Solunto <\/em><br \/>\n(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.regione.sicilia.it\/beniculturali\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.regione.sicilia.it\/beniculturali<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>2) MOTHIA<\/strong><br \/>\nThe richest and most important Phoenician colony in Sicily and in the Mediterranean is Motya, a lovely little island, with a strategic geographical position, which has always been an ideal place for the exchange of goods. In addition to the significant archaeological finds, Mozia also offers a unique landscape. The shallow waters of the lagoon, create \u00a0natural pools, with transparent and clear water, all around there are \u00a0salt pans.<\/p>\n<p><em>Isle of Mozia<\/em><br \/>\n(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fondazionewhitaker.it\/mozia.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.fondazionewhitaker.it\/mozia.html<\/a>)<br \/>\nHistorical jetty Arini and\u00a0 Pugliese<\/p>\n<p><strong>3) SEGESTA<\/strong><br \/>\nOn the \u00a0slopes of Mount \u00a0Barbaro, among the green hills of the hinterland of Castellammare del Golfo, there are the ruins of the ancient capital city of the Elymians, according to legend founded by refugees fro<a href=\"https:\/\/fenici.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/segesta-300x200-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1703 alignright lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/fenici.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/segesta-300x200-1.jpg\" alt=\"segesta-300x200\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 300px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 300\/200;\" \/><\/a>m Troy. The city, for historical reasons, in constant conflict with the nearby Selinunte, preserves a Doric temple that, solemn and isolated, \u00a0still stands intact and, at the top of the mountain, there are the remains of a well preserved theatre dating back to the 3rd century BC. It\u00a0 is a unique landscape.<\/p>\n<p><em>Segesta archaeological site<\/em><br \/>\n(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.regione.sicilia.it\/beniculturali\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.regione.sicilia.it\/beniculturali<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>4) SELINUNTE<\/strong><br \/>\nIn the municipality of Castelvetrano there is\u00a0 the largest Archaeological Park of \u00a0Europe. On the Acropolis and in the religious sites of the Malophoros and the \u00a0Eastern Hill vestiges of a large intact urban city. Today, in an incomparable atmosphere, there are colossal ruins of temples in the purest Doric style.<\/p>\n<p><em>Archaeological Park of Selinunte and Cave di Cusa <\/em><br \/>\n(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.parcoselinunte.it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/www.parcoselinunte.it<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>5) SAMBUCA DI SICILIA \u2013 MOUNT ADRANON<\/strong><br \/>\nOn the top \u00a0of Mount Adranon, just north of the modern town of Sambuca di Sicilia \u2013 elected one of the most beautiful village in Italy, there are scattered the ruins of the Greek town\u00a0 of Adranon, founded by the Selinuntinians \u00a0in the 6th century BC. In a context with a particular charm, \u00a0it is possible to \u00a0admire the remains of the imposing walls (about 5 Km long)\u00a0 which enclose \u00a0dwellings, workshops, cisterns, farms, necropolises, sacred areas and an Acropolis on the top of the mountain.<\/p>\n<p><em>Archaeological area of Adranon <\/em><br \/>\n(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.regione.sicilia.it\/beniculturali\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.regione.sicilia.it\/beniculturali<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>6) AGRIGENTO<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Archaeological and landscape Park of the Valley of the temples in Agrigento, since 1997 a UNESCO World Heritage site, in an area of almost 1300 hectares , \u00a0keeps beautiful and valuab<a href=\"https:\/\/fenici.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Image28-300x202-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1706 alignleft lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/fenici.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Image28-300x202-1.jpg\" alt=\"image28-300x202\" width=\"300\" height=\"202\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 300px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 300\/202;\" \/><\/a>le evidence of the Greek and Roman city in a unique landscape.<\/p>\n<p><em>Archaeological Park of the Valley of the temples<\/em><br \/>\n(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.parcovalledeitempli.it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.parcovalledeitempli.it<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>7) SYRACUSE<\/strong><br \/>\nOn the southeastern coast of Sicily, partly extended on the mainland and partly on the island of Ortigia ,there \u00a0is located the city of Syracuse. From the bleachers, carved on the hillside, \u00a0it offers a view \u00a0towards Giardini Naxos and the Etna.<\/p>\n<p><em>Ancient Theatre \u00a0Taormina <\/em><br \/>\n(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.parconaxostaormina.it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.parconaxostaormina.it<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>9) TINDARI<\/strong><br \/>\nThe ancient Tyndaris was one of the last Greek colonies in Sicily, founded by Syracuse in 396 BC, when the Roman expansion was already facing the Mediterranean.
