The annual event of the Phoenicians’ Route “Ancient Mediterranean Days<\/strong>”\u00a0is back, an event that includes numerous initiatives and activities of various kinds\u00a0(conferences, exhibitions, meetings, guided tours, twinnings, intercultural travel, and more) on the value of the Ancient Mediterranean Civilizations for today’s Intercultural Dialogue in many countries belonging to the International Network. The 2018 Edition will be dedicated in particular to the European Year of Cultural Heritage\u00a0<\/strong>and the activities that will take place in the months of March, April and May are included in the calendar of this great European cultural event. \nIl Cammino della Rada<\/strong>
\nSince 2013, three Associations: Italia Nostra, Legambiente and Elba2020Team, and since last year also the CAI, have been working on a niche project on the Island of Elba: “Il Cammino della Rada”, an itinerary that connects an extraordinary articulation of natural, cultural and historical points of interest, distributed along the Cammino in the Municipality of Portoferraio and at the gates of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park.
\nOn Saturday 17th March, on the occasion of the launch of the online cultural magazine “MILIARIUM”, the article dedicated to the path, published in the magazine Montagne 360 in February, will be republished.

March, 18th and 25th<\/em>
\nCastiglion Fiorentino – Cortona (AR) – Tuscany
\nIntercultural Travel<\/strong>
\nStudents of the Escola d’Art d’Eivissa, twinned with high school IISS of Castiglion Fiorentino, will make an intercultural travel to discover the Etruscan civilization in Tuscany.<\/p>\n

March 29th and 30th<\/em>
\nParks and Museums of the Val di Cornia (Tuscany)
\nInauguration of the new exhibition itinerary<\/strong> to visit the Acropolis area of the Archaeological Park of Baratti and Populonia, of the restored Fortress and of the Archaeological-Mining Park of San Silvestro and interventions carried out at the Archaeological Museum of the Territory of Populonia (Piombino). Important works and realized in order to make archaeology accessible to the public, for a visit without barriers not only from a physical, but also and above all cultural point of view; an accessibility understood not only in the narrower sense of demolition of architectural barriers, but also in overcoming cultural, cognitive and sensorial barriers.

April 2nd and 8th<\/em>
\nEvent “Land and Mediterranean traditions in Terra d’Otranto<\/strong>”
\nMonday, April 2nd a walk “On the streets of the shepherds” will take place to improve the knowledge of the area surrounding the Lighthouse of Punta Palasc\u00eca (Capo d’Otranto) and Porto Badisco, the landfall of Enea. The initiative is organized by the Association Il Giunco.
\nSunday, April 8th a walk from Corsano to the Ionian Sea will take place along the ancient \u201cSalt Ways\u201d. The initiative is organized by the He. Arts Association.

\nFirst Forum Archipelago Culture<\/strong>
\nThe first Forum of the Tuscan Archipelago Associations that deal directly or indirectly with culture is born to know each other, share their experience and create new synergies. “Archipelago Culture”, the name of the initiative, aims to underline the connection of the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago to create a network of associations and operators, to play an active role in culture and promote exchange and communication.

\nStudents of the College Cours Bastide of Marseilles (France) will make an intercultural travel to discover the Phoenicians\u2019 Route in Sicily.<\/p>\n

April 17th and 18th<\/em>
\n“Giovanni Marongiu” Civic Museum in Cabras and FabLab 3D of the De Castro Institute in Terralba – Sardinia
\nEvent: Erasmus + “Paths of Europe” on the Phoenicians\u2019 Route<\/strong>
\nThe students of De Castro Institute in Terralba, after having studied and analysed the Phoenicians\u2019 Route, will write an article to be published on the INDIRE platform and will conduct a survey to verify the knowledge of local citizens and stakeholders such as representatives of institutions and tourist associations on the Cultural Route.
\nOn Tuesday 17th<\/sup> a workshop will be held in collaboration with the Cabras museum. The students, together with some guests of the Erasmus + “Paths of Europe” partner schools\u2019 delegations coming from Spain, Belgium and Poland, will be involved in the scanning of some Roman and Phoenician finds to be printed in the FabLab of the school, with the help of 3D printers. The prints will remain available to the Museum for educational purposes and for the use of blind and visually impaired visitors.

\nPlein Air Camper Tour 2018 on the Phoenicians’ Route in Sicily<\/strong><\/a>
\nA media campaign through a tour in stages to discover and launch a new SmartWay in Sicily, coming into contact with the true and authentic Sicilian identity, consisting of endless facets of cultures, traditions, landscapes and gastronomy. The proposal is carried out in collaboration with various operators of experiential and creative tourism.

\nCortona – Tuscany
\nEvent “Europe 2018. The Faro Convention and the Cultural Routes as a project of democracy, intercultural dialogue and local development<\/strong><\/em>”
\nThe Phoenicians’ Route and AION Cultura organize a round table on the topic, where Local authorities, Universities and Cultural Institutes, technicians of Cultural Routes, high school students and all stakeholders interested in cultural heritage, as indicated in the Faro Convention,\u00a0can confront each other.

\nJune, 23rd<\/em>\u00a0MAEC Museum of the Etruscan Academy and of the city of Cortona (AR) \u2013 Tuscany
\nTwo days of seminars and round tables on the subject “Iberians and Etruscans in the Ancient Mediterranean among archaeological research, Cultural Routes and tourism development<\/strong><\/em>“, where it is possible to establish a dialogue among Local Organizations, Universities and Cultural Institutes, Cultural Route Technicians and all cultural heritage stakeholders, as indicated in the Faro Convention.
\nSpecific meetings are also planned with high school students focusing on the Faro Convention and the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe.

\nMajorca – Balearic Islands
\nHistorical regatta of Mallorca<\/strong> Historical Regatta of Mallorca between the islands of Sa Galera (Palma) and Na Guardis (Ses Salines), a naval route used by the Punics 2200 years ago as a cultural and commercial route. A historical re-enactment and, above all, a reflection on the nautical knowledge and skills of the Phoenicians, a true intangible cultural heritage in the Mediterranean.
