The Phoenicians’ Route in connection with Vipava Valley, Ajdovščina – Monday, 27 May 2024, from 10:00 am

The Municipality of Ajdovščina, new member of the Phoenicians’ Route – Cultural Route of the Council of Europe, invites you to the discussion on the Phoenicians’ Route and its opportunities for the Vipava Valley.

The aim of the event is not only to inform the participants about the Cultural Route itself, but also to outline the opportunities that the Phoenicians’ Route and cultural tourism bring to the Vipava Valley and its economic and tourism development. The membership of the Phoenicians’ Route consists of institutional, territorial and thematic cultural bodies, universities, research centres, schools, non-profit organisations, private individuals and other stakeholders from different sectors developing common strategies in 15 Euro-Mediterranean countries.

The event will take place on Monday, 27 May 2024, from 10:00 AM, at the premises of the Regional Chamber of Crafts and Small businesses of Ajdovščina, Vipavska cesta 4, 5270 Ajdovščina, Slovenia.

During the event the following issues will be discussed:
– What is the Phoenicians’ Route – Cultural Route of the Council of Europe and what can it bring to the Vipava Valley?
– What is the potential of cultural tourism for the economic development of the area (Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia and the Nova Gorica and Vipava Valley Tourism Institute)?
– Cross-border European Capital of Culture GO!2025 Nova Gorica – Gorizia and cultural tourism (Public Institute GO! 2025).
– Living history cultural events and their potential (Geza Frank – Flavius Stilicho).
