The Phoenicians’ Route at the International Religious Tourism Fair, Rome 21-23 June

The Phoenicians’ Route, as the leader of the project of excellence “Sicilia Sacra Network“, funded by the Sicilian Region and devoted to religious tourism, will take part in the next edition of the BTRI – International Religious Tourism Fair, to be held in Rome from 21 to 23 June 2017.

The presence of important sanctuaries and strong religious culture, still alive and widespread, make Sicily a privileged destination for religious tourism. To facilitate the encounter of the traveler and the pilgrim with these material and immaterial assets you can follow the paths of “Sicily Sacra Network – Religious and Cultural Routes“, which will be presented at the stand of the Sicilian Region.

In particular, the geo-referenced route from Erice to Agrigento will be presented, allowing the user to discover:

  • Today’s places of religion and spirituality: Sanctuaries and traditions
  • Places of religion and spirituality of Ancient Mediterranean Civilizations
  • The Cammino della Passione (Passion Easter Route) on the rites of Holy Week

In addition, over a hundred hospitality facilities have been identified and selected along the routes to provide the necessary services.
