The certification of the Phoenicians’ Route as a Cultural Route of the Council of Europe has been renewed

The Phoenicians’ Route received the official communication of the renewal of the certification as a Cultural Route of the Council of Europe from the Secretariat of the Enlarged Partial Agreement (EPA). It is the sixth time that this has happened, confirming the quality of the work carried out from 2003 to today. In fact, every three years the monitoring takes place according to the criteria of Resolution CM/res (2013) 67 as well as the evaluation of the réseau porteur which for our Route is the International Confederation of the Phoenicians’ Route.

The “Evaluation Report” drawn up by an external expert, appointed by the EPA Secretariat, gave the Phoenicians’ Route a very high score with 74 points out of 81. The next regular evaluation of our Route will be carried out in the framework of the 2025-2026 Certification Cycle. For The Phoenicians’ Route and for the entire International Network, working with great commitment in the fourteen countries involved and around the world, it is an excellent omen in preparation for the 20th Anniversary of the inclusion of the Phoenicians’ Route in the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe Programme (2023).

Letter from Dr. Stefano Dominioni, Director of the European Institute of Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe and Executive Secretary of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe.
