Wednesday was held in Beirut the Kick-Off Meeting X Euro-Mediterranean Dialogue on the Phoenicians’ Route, attended by Minister of Tourism H.E. Mr. Avedis Guidanian and the General Director of the Lebanese Ministry of Tourism Mrs. Nada Sardouk, by a select audience and some of the Phoenicians’ Route delegates from other Mediterranean countries.
Were presented the Sustainable Tourism Year for Development 2017 UNWTO and the 30th Anniversary of the Program “Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe”. The Minister declared interest and his personal support to the route. Also several cultural and tourism organizations and several municipalities present have declared interest in joining the Lebanese network.
Following there was a meeting of the Core Working Group on The Phoenicians’ Route which was attended by a new Jordanian partner, Mr. Ghassam Oweis. The events were organized by the Tourist Guides Syndicate in Lebanon, of which our delegate Mr. Haytham Fawaz is President.
